- Fire Alarm Technicians
- 2 openings in Roanoke, VA metro with a radius of 5 hour traveling distance
- MUST BE OKAY WITH NIGHT WORK (10pm - 7am)
- MUST BE OKAY WITH TRAVELING UP TO 2 weeks at a time up to a radius of 5 hour traveling distance
- NICET II REQUIRED for both locations
- Working mainly at Walmart stores to install new or upgraded fire alarm panels and associated devices including Burglary Alarm

- Night work schedule: 10 PM to 7 AM, Sunday through Thursday
- Project duration expected to be over a year
- Bosch experience and NICET Level 2 or higher certification preferred
- Candidates must be comfortable with night work and two-week travel periods
- Experience with scissor and boom lifts (inside and outside) is beneficial
- Pay range typically between
30-
40 per hour, higher for licensed technicians - Screening process includes initial review, phone interview, and potentially two virtual interviews
- Background check required; DUI/DWI in last two years disqualifies from company vehicle use
- 48-hour turnaround time for initial candidate feedback

- At least two years of experience for fire alarm, at least for this project. For Walmart, it's mostly Bosch. So if they have Bosch experience, that's a certain type of fire alarm, that would be awesome.
- They have a licensing and permitting team at Wachter. Send recruiter a picture of their license (NICET) and we'll have them look it up.

- Fire Alarm Project Technician 2 - Working mainly at Walmart stores to install new or upgraded fire alarm panels and associated devices including Burglary Alarm. MUST BE OKAY WITH NIGHT WORK. Travel of 2 weeks at a time is the normal unless otherwise specified. Knowledge of installing commercial fire alarm panels and devices along with good troubleshooting skills is a must. License required for all locations if applicable. NICET Certifications are a huge plus . CA usually requires Blue Cards. Company vehicle provided. Pay Rate: $25-$45/hr. This rate is based on experience and location.

Requirements:

- NICET certification (Preferred, although not required).
- Available to travel.
- Current/valid state-required Physical Security license and/or Life Safety license in the applicable technology.
- Experience reading blueprints and site maps.
- Knowledgeable about NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72.
- Experience in burglar alarms, access control, and CCTV is a plus.
- Excellent customer relationship and communication skills; verbal and written.
- Knows how to troubleshoot switches, WiFi, and routers.
- Certified to operate a BOOM or scissor lift, and ability to work at heights.
- Has basic telecommunication tools, PPE, and reliable transportation.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no DUI or DWI in the last three years.
Responsibilities:

- Install, repair, or upgrade fire alarm systems and program control panels for fire alarm systems with the guidance of building plans and electrical layouts.
- Mount sensors at appropriate locations, performing all necessary tasks, such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing locations such as crawlspaces or attics.
- Ensure all work complies with current codes and regulations.
- Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
- Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that fire alarm systems are in compliance with electrical and fire codes.
- Tests to ensure all newly installed fire alarm systems and component devices are operational.
- Troubleshoot new system installations to ensure the proper functioning and to ensure the system meets local, county, state, or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements.
