Job Summary: The AAON Applications Engineer supports AAON Equipment Representatives, as well as consulting engineers, contractors, and end users to provide controls applications recommendations and answer application questions. This includes reviewing building plans and specifications to determine what control is provided by the AAON controller(s) and what needs to be performed by others. Responsibilities also include acting as a subject matter expert collaborating with AAON Engineering Departments in product development, testing, and controls documentation which may require occasional travel.
Essential Responsibilities/Activities* :
• Collaborate with manufacturer’s reps, specifying engineers, contractors, and others to discuss existing or potential controls application features.
• Apply engineering knowledge as subject matter expert.
• Assist in Controls Documentation and system design requirements.
• Support Application Sales Engineers in control sales activities.
• Assist in controls product testing. •
Collaborate with internal AAON members to analyze opportunities and provide recommendations on control solutions.
• Provide input for modifications of existing and new products to ensure conformance with engineering design/specifications.
Minimum Requirements: • BA or BS in Computer Science Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, , or similar degree in applied sciences and a minimum of 8 years’ experience with controls applications and design.
• A proven work experience of 12 years in HVAC Control design could be considered in lieu of education.
