Position Summary

The Sr. Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Under the General Supervisor's guidance, the Medical Laboratory Technician will evaluate patient specimens, perform designated laboratory tests, and interpret results, adhering to state and federal regulatory standards.


Senior Medical Laboratory Technician Position Summary The Sr. Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible for performing a variety of laboratory tests to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. Under the General Supervisor's guidance, the Medical Laboratory Technician will evaluate patient specimens, perform designated laboratory tests, and interpret results, adhering to state and federal regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:

Perform Laboratory Procedures: Follow established procedures for specimen handling, processing, testing, result reporting, and record keeping.
  • Maintain Quality Control: Monitor test analysis and specimen examinations to ensure quality standards are met, perform routine and complex laboratory procedures, and maintain competency in all assigned tests.
  • Ensure Equipment Performance: Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments, troubleshoot issues, and document corrective actions when necessary.
  • Comply with Safety and Regulatory Standards: Adhere to safety protocols for handling biohazardous materials, participate in regulatory inspections, and follow proper disposal procedures for waste.
Core Competencies and Experience:
  • Technical Proficiency: Possesses the necessary technical skills and knowledge to perform job duties effectively.
  • Background: At least 2 years of experience in this role or a similar role
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Quality Focus: Dedicated to accuracy, thoroughness, and quality assurance in all work.
  • Decision-Making Skills: Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems effectively.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field
  • Certification: Required certification in relevant specialty 
Salary $65-$83,200k/Year
